It is a two piece system. The Funnel type food grade plastic, with reusable and replaceable plastic fine mesh filter. The smooth inner surface makes it easy to clean and sanitize. And the stem fits easily into quart and gallon jars, small buckets, and carboys but is wide enough to provide fast flow. Easy to fit a quart jar by cutting the stem to reduce the length.
The funnel comes with a 5.5″ diameter, fine-mesh straining screen, and the interior has a notch around the circumference where the screen rests securely. This filter screen is made of durable, food-grade plastic and perfectly sized to fit snugly into the funnel to prevent the screen from moving and material from flowing around the sides of the screen. Extra filter screens are available for purchase.
